I. Mission of the Penn Monto Field Hockey Foundation

Promote and develop field hockey for youth and recreational adults.  Raise and distribute funds for educational, community, and instructional field hockey events.   Create and institute new educational and instructional field hockey programs.   Promote and advertise field hockey programs, projects, and events throughout the United States.

II. History of the Penn Monto Field Hockey Foundation

The Penn Monto Field Hockey Foundation recognize a need for a concentrated organized program for promoting the development of field hockey within the United States.   Many communities with the will to play struggle from lack of funds to implement such programs.  Many communities are not aware of the fun and benefits derived from playing field hockey.  The Penn Monto Field Hockey Foundation is a startup foundation starting its fourth year.  The Foundation’s annual fund raiser is the Golf Tournament which is held each year in June.
 
 

• To raise and distribute funds for field hockey program development within community programs.
• To provide alternative sporting opportunities for children and recreational adults.
• To promote good health and communication skills between gender and different cultures through sport.
• To make field hockey as accessible sport for all.

• Financial and equipment grants to communities began in Winter 2000.
• Development of a current playing opportunity resource.
• Investigating ways to stimulate inner city schools/organizations to create morning or after school field hockey programs.
• Host an annual fund raiser Golf Tournament.

The Penn Monto Field Hockey Foundation is supported by gifts and donations from individuals and corporations.  The Grant Program has been designed to assist those trying to develop the game of field hockey at all levels.  Funds available for the distribution through the grant awards will vary, and will be determined by the Board of Directors.

    Grant Applications will be reviewed on a yearly cycle.  Types of grants include but are not limited to the following examples:

• Elementary/Middle/Junior/Senior High School: after school programs, new teaching units, intramural activities, club programs independent from athletic programs, umpire or coaches training.
• Community Based Organizations:  Scouting, Y Programs, PAL, Parks and Recreation, Parent Organization, Outreach programs, Community and Cultural Centers, Boys/Girls Clubs, Native American Groups.
• IndividualSports Clubs:  Community service programs, curent field hockey clubs developing programs for a new population/ age group, developmental coach or umpire training, new field hockey clubs.
